Organizers

The Strawberries & Art Festival is organized by the First Parish Church United. Our historic Meeting House, dedicated in 1794, is located on Main Street immediately beside the Fletcher Library. Adjacent to the Meeting House is the Fellowship Hall, a modern building with a fully certified kitchen. The Fellowship Hall is the hub of shortcake preparation, starting with hulling berries mid-morning. Once shortcake service begins, the kitchen will hum with activity as our ‘Cream Team’ works their bank of mixers to meet the demand for fresh whipped cream.

Proceeds from the Festival help First Parish to finance its own activities and support its service work. First Parish supports a number of charitable groups on the local, national and international level. First Parish is blessed to be located on the Westford Common, and to have the wonderful gathering spaces of our two buildings. This space is shared free of charge to Scouts, 4H Groups and Alcoholics Anonymous as part of our community giving. We strive to keep our rental rates affordable for community groups, private and business events, believing that opening our space is a way to serve the greater community. The Strawberries & Art Festival is dependent on the on-going support of many in the community. The Town of Westford, the Westford Police Department , the Westford Fire Department and the Board of Health help insure that this is a safe and fun event. The Friends of the Fletcher Library, the Parish Center for the Arts, and the Lions Club have added their events to the Festival, adding to all our enjoyment.

Volunteers make the Festival happen. Without the many people who share their musical gifts, the fair would be much less of a celebration. The work of the fair starts early and ends late, without many hands it would not be possible. Thanks to the many church volunteers, the young men and families of Boy Scout Troop 159 and our Westford friends whose hard work pulls it together on Festival day.

And, finally, a special thanks to our crafters and artisans. They arrive early and leave late. In between, they share their creativity and welcome us warmly, browsers and shoppers alike.
